Bonding and creating experiences with your team now that your company has gone remote. See what we did for the world's largest remote company!

Hi friends,

Are you having trouble now that your company has gone remote?

How do you engage your team, create experiences that adds excitement to their life, get them to feel connected to each other, and your business? While they're struggling at home doing “all the things”.

I have you covered! Today, I’ll share ideas to help you with this.

Did you know that my company has been remote for the last 12 years and we work with the largest remote company in the world? This is something that we specialize in and have been doing for a long time.

Ready to see what we just did for GitLab’s virtual event and how to create an experience with it? You can do this for your company too.

GitLab was doing a virtual Hack-A-Thon with their IT department over ZOOM.

They wanted to have their employees around the world receive their Hack-A-Thon package at home to add excitement about the event and give them something to look forward to.

They were told their package would reveal what team they would be on.

GitLab wanted everyone to be able to see what team each person was on just by looking at their screen. How did we do that?

We created GitLab Hack-A-Thon T-shirt and hat sets in different colors so each team had their own color and would be easy to recognize who belonged to which one at a glance.

GitLab made a fun version of their logo that looked like it was hand-drawn to add to the excitement.

The back of the shirts carried on that hand-drawn feel with the event name and year in a matching font.

Are you wondering how we decided what the team colors would be? Keeping your brand integrity is important to us in every project we do. So, we used GitLab’s brand colors and added some complementary ones to complete the sets.

One of our team members even said it looks like a fun bag of Skittles as they were packaging up the sets to send out.

GitLab also wanted to help keep their employees safe through COVID and be able to show their GitLab pride! Every package had a GitLab mask in it too.

Adding on to the above, think about prizes. We have created prizes so the entire team wins the same item(s).

We’ve also done it by putting together a few items for them to choose from so each person wins the items they like best. Making it more fun and exciting for your employees.

Think about the packaging. Sending the event box out in a nice branded package with a decal that says, "Do not open" until a certain date also adds excitement and adds to the experience. It’s like starring at your present under the Christmas tree, but you can’t open it yet. The suspense will kill you! LOL

When that date comes, get your whole team on zoom. Everybody opens up their box at the same time to discover what team they're on. Or if you aren’t doing an event where people are not split into teams you’ll still love their reactions when they see what you’ve sent them!

Here’s another new and cool way we are helping clients like you to create experiences!

Have you seen our cool microchips that make our products talk to the recipient?

This little chip is so AMAZING! When people scan their smartphone over it, we can create a sequence of different “experiences” that we’ve set up in. Every time they scan the chip a new message is revealed.

Here’s an example of some of the “experiences” we can create with our microchips:

·         We can run contests

·         Surveys and polls during and after the event

·         Send a message from the Director or CEO

·         Trivia

·         Alert them to an upcoming event, special, etc.

·         Recognize team members accomplishment

·         And MORE!

Each chip collects data electronically so you have the info. at your fingertips. It’s fun, interactive and people love it!

Think about how to make your experiences more immersive like a live event.

We can create some cool backgrounds for you whether you want a virtual background or actual physical background. Think about your theme, what the host will be wearing, etc.

That TOTAL experience that we help you create is what changes the game and takes your virtual event from drab to FAB!

It gets their mind off of everything they're going through with COVID, family issues, mental health, stress, school, and all of these things that everybody's dealing with AND bonds you and your team together!

In our new world, we need to think outside the box. Think about how to add that physical piece along with the virtual piece and bring them together to create memorable and fun experiences at your next virtual event. It makes a huge difference!

Now that I shared ideas for creating experiences. Here’s a list of some other virtual events you can do.

• Virtual Escape Room

• Virtual Scavenger Hunt

• A game show like Jeopardy or Let's Make a Deal

• Trivia Contest

• Lip Sync Battle

• Reenacting a famous movie scene and the others have to guess where it was from

• Accomplishing missions to receive a reward

• Having a paint night

• Happy hour

Give me your feedback and your ideas too! What other events have you either seen or thought about doing that would be great for virtual events for team building? Do tell! Together we’ll do great things and be the beacon of light during a dark time for so many!

Always in your corner,
