Hi friends!

Today I have a cool tip for you. Do you have a special event coming up? Are you sending or handing out exclusive

invitations that will set the stage to get people excited

? To give them a taste of what’s in store for them?

I'm going to show you one that we just did for one of our clients that is gorgeous, cool and it will

help you UP your invitation game

 while creating an experience. :)

Ready?

This invitation is for the people who have earned Gitlab’s President’s Club.

It was hand-delivered on stage in front of almost 500 people to each recipient that earned it.

BUT...They weren’t just giving an invitation. They were given experience. This beautiful invitation was placed inside a stunning wood box that was engraved on the outside with Gitlab’s President’ Club logo.

When they opened the box, they were surprised to find this gorgeous invitation. A nice bottle of champagne, two Corkcicle wine cups to toast their success with their favorite person. Two luggage tags for the trip that they won. All of this setting the stage and creating excitement.

We didn’t want to just place an average invitation inside. That would have taken away from what we created.

Let’s break down the invitation

We started with a classy white envelope with a teal "Congratulations" in front, tying the color into what's inside.

We sealed the envelope with a gold foil decal. It looks embossed, but it's not. We created this look with a special print process that we put over the top that helps give it that embossed effect.

When they open the envelope, the first thing they notice is how it feels. It isn't regular paper. We did a satin finish over the top so it would feel soft, elegant, classy, and give it a high-end feel. Next time you do a nice invitation add this technique to it.

Their President's Club logo has four colors on it. Which by itself looks beautiful, but when we were designing it, it was fighting with the other elements.

To solve this and

give it a higher-end look

we did their logo in gold foil.

We incorporated this beautiful picture behind it so they'll have a hint as to where they're going.

We carried the gold foil on the inside, with the elegant hibiscus flower. Tying everything together.

The "Save the date" text is done in one of their logo colors with the gold foil around.

On the other side, we did a beautiful pattern tying in the teal color and then made a reverse faded look of it.

Most invitations if you flip it open, would just open up.

We wanted it to have a high-end feel and be different

.

We are big proponents of personalization, customization, and creating experiences

.

Inside is a letter from the executive who is putting on presidents’ club at their company. Congratulating them on making it to the President's Club.

Two things I want to make sure that you're noticing here:

1. There's a place for a signature.

2. Underneath the signature is a place for them to write a short note to the person receiving it to make it even more personal.

  1. There’s enough room to handwrite the recipient’s name at the beginning of the letter.

Oh...and did I mention that we did this in just 2 days from design to print!

😁

The next time you’re doing an event that needs an invitation, spend some time thinking through it.

Don't let it just be ordinary

.

What are those special little touches? The gold foil decal with their Tanuki that makes it look like it's embossed. The satin finish paper. Tying in the colors throughout? The gold foil accents, adding a personalized, folding out letter, etc.

These are all important elements that took this invitation to the next level. Wouldn’t you agree?
